Publicly Available Disclosure Statement

This document sets out important information that Finsure New Zealand Limited is required to make publicly available in accordance with the Financial Markets Conduct Regulations 2014.

Licensing Information

Finsure New Zealand Limited (FSP1005389, trading as Finsure NZ) is a licensed Financial Advice Provider (FAP) regulated by the Financial Markets Authority.

Finsure NZ operates as an aggregator and does not provide financial advice directly to clients. Financial advice is provided by Authorised Bodies operating under the Finsure NZ Financial Advice Provider licence.

A list of our Authorised Bodies can be found by searching “Finsure New Zealand Limited” or “FSP1005389” on the Financial Service Providers Register (FSPR) at www.fspr.govt.nz.

Fees and Expenses

Finsure NZ does not provide financial advice directly to clients and does not charge clients any fees.

An Authorised Body may charge a fee for the financial advice or services it provides. Any fees that may be payable will be disclosed to you before advice is provided and will be explained in the Authorised Body’s disclosure documentation.

Conflicts of Interest and Commissions

Authorised Bodies operating under the Finsure NZ licence are generally remunerated by commissions and other payments from product providers when a client enters into a financial product following financial advice.

These payments may include upfront commissions, renewal commissions, trail commissions, or other incentives.

Full details of any commissions, incentives, fees, or conflicts of interest relevant to your advice will be disclosed by the Authorised Body providing that advice.

To help ensure that client interests are prioritised, Finsure NZ:

  • Maintains policies and procedures for identifying, managing, and monitoring conflicts of interest.
  • Requires ongoing training on conflicts management and client care obligations.
  • Maintains registers of conflicts of interest, gifts, and incentives.
  • Conducts regular monitoring and assurance activities to assess compliance with legal obligations and conflicts management requirements.
  • Requires advice to be provided in accordance with the Financial Markets Conduct Act 2013 and the Code of Professional Conduct for Financial Advice Services.

Complaints and Dispute Resolution

If you have a complaint about financial advice provided by an Authorised Body operating under the Finsure NZ licence, please contact us as soon as possible.

When we receive a complaint:

  • We will consider your complaint and, where possible, seek to resolve it promptly.
  • If the complaint cannot be resolved immediately, we will acknowledge receipt within two business days.
  • We may contact you to obtain additional information relevant to the complaint.
  • We aim to resolve complaints within 10 working days. If additional time is required, we will keep you informed and advise when you can expect a response.
  • We will communicate the outcome of our investigation and any proposed resolution.

If you are not satisfied with the outcome of our complaints process, or you choose not to use it, you may refer your complaint to our external dispute resolution scheme.

Our Duties

Finsure NZ and the Authorised Bodies operating under our licence have duties under the Financial Markets Conduct Act 2013 in relation to the provision of financial advice.

These duties include taking reasonable steps to:

  • Give priority to clients’ interests.
  • Exercise care, diligence, and skill when providing financial advice.
  • Meet the standards of competence, knowledge, and skill set out in the Code of Professional Conduct for Financial Advice Services.
  • Meet the standards of ethical behaviour, conduct, and client care set out in the Code of Professional Conduct for Financial Advice Services.
